Master's research abstract under the title "Graphic Art for Architects and Sculptors"

The thesis is divided into 3 Chapters:

The 1st, it titled “The Relation between graphics, architecture, and sculpture, since the Renaissance, to the 20th C“. It gives a survey of the development of the relation between printmaking, architecture and sculpture, in addition to other branches of art.

The 2nd, is titled “Graphic Works of Architects“.

Here, we examine models of graphic prints by the most prominent architects who excelled as graphic artists, and trace the influence of their original specializations on their special compositions and techniques. Illustrating models are selected from the creations by the English architect Sir Ernst George, the English architect William Walcot, the English architect Cyril Edward Power, the Austrian  architect Hundertwasser, and the Spanish architect Andres Nagel.

The 3rd, it titles “Graphic Works of Sculptors“, This chapter deals with the prominent achievements in graphics in the 70s of the 20th c., showing how these have lured other artists, who had not worked in dual media before. An example is “Land Works”, Which became the inspiring source for a number of sculptors as well. Here again, we can trace the influence of the artist’s specializations on their prints.

Selected examples are given from the graphic prints of Henry Moore the English Sculptor, Alberto Giacometti the Swiss, Louise Nevelson the American, Eduardo Chillida the Spanish, and Eduardo Paolozzi the Scotch.
